A：The program is tailored to passionate candidates who demonstrate both academic competency and aspire to be journalists, in general, business journalists specifically, or any other job that requires expertise in China or international economics.

* The winter break at THU will be from Jan. 9, 2023 to Feb. 12, 2023. The application system will still be available during the winter break, but online verification might be delayed due to the vacation. First-round applicants are therefore recommended to complete their application at least two or three weeks in advance.
Required Qualifications of Applicants
1） Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport.
2）Master's degree program applicants should have a bachelor's degree, or a degree equivalent to a bachelor's degree that can be certified by the Chinese Education Ministry. In principle, the degree diploma awarded by overseas universities should be authenticated by the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange,Ministry of Education,P.R.China.
3） Applicants should be in good health and of good character, be well-behaved and be willing to abide by China's laws and regulations, as well as Tsinghua's rules.
4） Language competence requirements: Applicants must demonstrate strong English skills, as all teaching will be conducted in English. If the applicant’s native language is not English, official English proficiency test scores must be submitted with the application.
1）Do I have to speak and write fluent English?
Yes. You must be adjudged proficient in English by an international test if you are not a native English speaker. You are attending a master's degree program in English at the top university in China. You are expected to write English fluently and to be able to participate in class discussions in English.
2）What are the required English test-scores?
For non-English-speaking candidates, we recommend them to have at least a score of 7 for IELTS and 100 for TOEFL.

4）Do I have to speak and write Mandarin Chinese?
No, you do not need to be a Chinese speaker to attend the program. However, familiarity with Mandarin is an asset, and we welcome bilingual applicants. All international students are required to take the Chinese language during their time in Global Business Journalism. A placement test will determine your level.
