On March 11th 2013, Professor Lars Willnat and 10 undergraduate students from School of Journalism, Indiana University visited our school and took class with our GBJ program. Lee Miller, professor of Global Business Journalism Program at our school and Editor-at-Large of Bloomberg News, offered his course "Business News Data Mining and Analysis" at Global Sources Hall to GBJ students and visitors from Indiana.
The main topic of the class was demographics. Professor Miller gave both sides questionnaires, like he usually did, to collect data about the basic information and habits of people from different countries. The answers were then transformed to simple data and showed how difference the two countries were in general. In order to get more data, students from different countries were asked to interview each other and write news stories based on this interview.
