Tsinghua School of Journalism and Communication congratulates Global Business Journalism alumnus Anwar Al-Buraihi on the publication of his Master’s degree dissertation abstract in a book titled Academic Research about Al-Jazeera: PhDs, Masters, Books & Research Papers 1996 – 2012.

The book, published by the Al-Jazeera Centre for Studies, aims to introduce and compile the existing literature about Al Jazeera. It also serves to benefit the network's staff, by informing them of Al Jazeera's presence in academia.

Al-Buraihi's Master’s dissertation (War, Ideology and News Reporting: A Case Study of the U.S. Antipathy toward Al Jazeera Channel) examines Al Jazeera Channel's coverage of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq in 2001 and 2003 respectively, and the United States reaction to the channel’s coverage. A comparison is made between the images and terms used by the Al Jazeera Channel and some US media about the wars.
