Biography

Prof. Li received Quaidi-i-Azam Award in 2009. He has to his credit over 200 rescarch papers, 30 authored or co-authored books. He has supervised 40 PhD students(including 3 Pakistan PHD students) , about 100 Master students.

He is now teaching Four courses on Silk Roads studies:1. Exploring Trans-HinduKush and Karakorum cultures; 2. A study of ancient roads through Pamir-Wakhan; 3. Writing by Trekking on the ancient Silk Roads; 4. From Himalaya to Siberia: an inter-civilization studies .

Li was Young Scholar of UNESCO Silk Roads Project between 1990-1992; Scientific and archaeological writer with the Washingtong Post(1995), head of political desk of the world service department of Xinhua News Agency(1996-1999);Shoreinstein Fellow of Harvard Universiy(1999), Academic visitor to Oxford University (2018, 2023). He was the recipient of UNAIDS Award for outstanding contribution to the prevention of HIV/AIDS in China. Qiaod-I-Aza Award bu Pakistan President.

He had a degree of English language and literature from Nanjing University, a journalism degree from Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He is a PhD Scholar of Buddhist Archaeology with QAU in Islamabad.
